Good day.

With my concealed fitting (Hansa) of the bathtub faucet, water leaks slightly from the concealed housing when water is drawn (whether cold or hot water)! So it runs down under the cover rosette to the bathtub edge. The faucet is not even 1.5 years old. (First installation in a new building) When the diverter is operated (between shower and eccentric inlet fitting), it also leaks from the concealed housing. This problem does not occur with the concealed shower faucet.

Who is familiar with this problem? Could it possibly be the cartridge? Or the pipe aerator?

Thank you very much for your help.

Hello, what does the plumber say??? It is still within the warranty period. I would be more concerned that the water does not run behind the tile. Or self-installed?

Hello. Thank you for your quick reply. No, not self-installed (wife...). First installation at new purchase about 1.5 years ago. Yes, I do consider warranty/guarantee, but I am just interested in what it could be... The installer can tell me anything as a woman... It could be that water has gotten under the tub or into the pre-wall installation. But I don't think so, since water only runs out of the housing when water is drawn. The water meter also shows nothing unusual.

I would have thought this problem might be known. Whether it is the cartridge? Or the switch? Or the pipe aerator?

For a woman, you sure know your stuff. Let him come and fix it. Or do you want to nerd out with him?

I googled this topic once and found this information. Of course, I'll let the plumber come. But I just wanted to get some information here first. He can tell me everything on site anyway...

Hi,

If you want to notice it at the water meter, the water would have to flow out to the front door...

that will (hopefully, because otherwise you have a SERIOUS problem) only be the cartridge. They can be pretty tricky sometimes. Our plumber didn't manage to get the part sealed in 3 attempts. Only the manufacturer's factory service was able to install it correctly.

Make sure to have it checked quickly and check whether water might have gotten in somewhere.

I might be a bit overcritical because exactly such a concealed fitting caused a huge water damage for us, but today I would never have something like that installed again. With a neat exposed fitting, at least you can see when something's wrong. With the concealed one, you only see it when it's too late and water comes out of some cracks.

Best regards and good luck,

Andreas
