Hello everyone,

who among you has had a bathroom vanity/cabinet made by the kitchen manufacturer? Is a kitchen base cabinet with a kitchen countertop durable in the bathroom? If you buy a kitchen, you could possibly get the matching vanity cheaper from the kitchen manufacturer. Or what do you think, what is your experience? How does it look in terms of price? Thank you very much

Hello,
we do not have a washbasin from the kitchen manufacturer, but our kitchen manufacturer also explicitly offers bathroom furniture.
However, our salesperson said at the time that the materials are different and you should not simply install a kitchen countertop in the bathroom.
Our bathroom furniture is from the furniture store and matches the ceramics of the sanitary company. We liked the furniture from the furniture store much better and it was also much, much cheaper than the originals from the ceramic manufacturer.

We have a kitchen countertop in the bathroom - right next to the kitchen. Made by the carpenter who has "always" done it that way and never had any problems.

Why should he? The kitchen is just as wet as a bathroom (around the sink).

That's true. Water shouldn't be left standing on the countertop for long anyway. And you have to prevent water from seeping into the cutouts for sinks, etc.

The humidity in the bathroom is poison for furniture, as it can cause coated parts to swell over time. Nevertheless, with well-made furniture, this is not a concern. I pay particular attention to the edge processing and surface treatment of bathroom furniture. If this is done sustainably and care is taken that it is not damaged, it lasts forever. So if the kitchen studio or kitchen manufacturer offers bathroom furniture, you can confidently have it done. As with everything, there are qualitative differences in edge processing and surface treatment, the use of carrier boards, fittings..........., which of course are reflected in the price. And another important aspect is the care of the furniture.

In a house with a ventilation system, the humidity should be absorbed quite quickly.
