Hello everyone,

since I am currently looking for a suitable flooring, I am surveying the market. As can be seen from the neighboring thread, a glued vinyl floor has, among other things, a high-quality appearance and better walking and running characteristics compared to the click variant.

The disadvantage is that it cannot necessarily be installed by oneself and is not really flexible due to the difficult dismantling.

Now I have come across a self-adhesive insulation mat that "could" combine both positive properties.

Now my question is, is this really the case or is this variant rather in the category of "neither fish nor fowl"?

P.s. I am aware that it cannot fulfill the properties of a wet glue 100%, but a significant approximation would be enough for me.

Why can't this be installed by yourself? You can also stick wallpaper on the wall yourself. That is definitely easier than with such a mat.

Yes, an ambitious hobby DIYer can certainly do this themselves. But the substrate must be virtually perfect, which is always a bit of an issue, especially with renovation!

Hello questioner. This type of installation has proven itself for private residential areas as well as for smaller office spaces. The whole thing works by means of a factory-applied dry adhesive, with which the top side of the roll-shaped insulation underlay is fixed to the PVC planks. The insulation underlay itself lies loose on the old substrate. It works and should not overwhelm the DIYer in terms of craftsmanship! ------------- Regards: KlaRa

: That is not a good idea! It will be uneven and you should know what you are doing when gluing!

That has never happened to me. I definitely did that myself three or four times before. It’s also not entirely clear to me why it should become uneven. Tiles also turn out very neat if you put in the effort.
