Hello,
we are renovating and currently preparing work for the electrician. Among other things, we have removed the old wooden ceilings. In the rooms, there was a suspended ceiling (drywall) underneath, and it looks externally "clean" (see photo). From the attic, it also looks externally clean; about 18 cm of insulation wool and above that walkable floorboards – the entire roof is in good condition, it was renovated in the mid-90s. BUT today, beneath the floorboard, what is shown in the two pictures below appeared.
To explain why it is different in the floorboard and the rooms: The floorboard ceiling was installed when the house was built in 1966 and was, by the way, very solid, thick, and heavy. The wooden ceilings in the rooms came later and were noticeably lighter and thinner.
What is best to do now? Spot repairs "from below" in the floorboard? Or tackle everything from above? It is to be suspected that it might look similar between the room ceilings and the attic. Please also consider the budget when giving advice... Grateful regards!
