Hi, we are currently about to decide on a ventilation system.

Bungalow with a granny flat
160 and 70 m2.

I was thinking of a central and a decentralized solution.

Which manufacturers and types work well? I am looking forward to real experience reports.

( ich suche etwas leises, wie wahrscheinlich jeder )

Thank you very much

Take the central unit, manufacturer one of the usual suspects...

I have now been offered Wolf.

Or is Zehnder still the non plus ultra?

For the [Einliegerwohnung] I would also accept (wish for) something more affordable. Since I will not be living in it.

Central! There's a lot of grumbling about the decentralized ones. Zehnder seems to be good. But ultimately, hardly any home user has real comparison options. Zehnder was offered to us directly and that was fine by me. But if it had been Wolf or Vaillant, it probably wouldn’t have bothered me too much. You take a look at the data sheets, the listed noise levels, check out the accessories a bit (do you like the valves, is there a (affordable) KNX module if needed, is there an enthalpy heat exchanger, ...) Zehnder almost got dropped because they don’t have an exhaust tower for flat roofs, only for pitched roofs. But the ventilation installer was able to solve that with the accessory program of another manufacturer.

We have a central controlled residential ventilation system from vallox (Heinemann). It is "somewhat" louder than zehnder in the room itself – but you don't notice it in the apartment. You only notice the difference between the two devices when you hear them directly side by side (in the "Showroom"). Inside the device, everything in vallox is made of metal. Very easy to clean, and in terms of dimensions, the device is smaller than the zehnder controlled residential ventilation system with the same performance. Due to the lack of space in the TK room, we chose vallox. Filters can also be easily procured from the roll and cut to size.

We have the Zehnder Comfoair Q350 TR and are very satisfied so far. The system is very quiet, but you should generally make sure that the exhaust vent outside is placed where it is less disturbing. The supply air outside is almost inaudible, the exhaust air outside is definitely louder. So it should not blow directly towards the neighbor if you live close by.

Best regards
Sabine
