Hello everyone,

does anyone know an elegant solution to avoid the ugly supply air grilles for a plastered wood stove?
Unfortunately, the air supply from outside is no longer possible because the screed is already in place.
Drilling into the basement is also not possible.

I am grateful for any idea.

Best regards

We installed "invisible grilles" on a masonry fireplace so that the heated air can distribute better in the room. For this, we used dark natural stone veneers, made the joints slightly wider, and in the areas where the air outlets were, we left out the mortar adhesive, so that the joints in these areas are hollow and the air can escape in several places. Since the background, the veneers, and the joints are dark, the slots are visually difficult to detect. For the supply air, this would only work if a larger supply air area is available (possibly on three sides) and the supply air volume at the stove can additionally be regulated.
