Hello everyone,
Since I am overwhelmed this year with my "field" of about 100 m², I want to restructure the space.
What annoys me now: I have no structure, just soil. Weeds grow endlessly and the snails eat almost all the small vegetable plants. Small plants get lost; I can no longer find them.
My idea: "Raised beds" made from large paving slabs set vertically in lean concrete - this would result in a height of about 40 to 50 cm. I am thinking of dimensions around 1*3 meters, with small paths around the raised beds, paved, gravelled or however, about 1 meter wide. For structuring, a few low, flat-maintained yews or privet hedges.
I also thought about plastering the raised beds and painting them white, a bit of a Greece style.
Has anyone done something similar and has tips or ideas or even photos for inspiration?
And good tips on how to keep snails away – copper wire or something similar, but that doesn’t interfere too much with the plants and herbs?
Best regards Reinhard
