Hi,

there is a large silver poplar tree right in the middle of the building window on our building plot. Trunk circumference 2.85 m at 2.30 m height. As can be seen in the picture, it is quite a big tree.

A felling permit is not a problem. It was discussed with the environmental office in advance and will be granted with the building permit.

The question now is: what is the most cost-effective solution for felling and disposal? Ideally, a woodworking company would be interested in the tree, fell it, and take it away. Free of charge for me. Poplar wood is very light and is said to be popular for furniture making.

Or is that unrealistic and the cheapest option is to fell the tree in the classic way and then dispose of it. There is enough space on the property for a “lengthwise” felling. I want to avoid any expensive operations like climbers sawing off branch by branch.

Who is ideally awarded the contract: directly to the earthworks contractor who will then already know what he is doing?

Thanks and regards klblb
