Hello everyone. My girlfriend and I planned our floor plan ourselves and have now received the attached drawing. The basic dimensions are intended to be 11x9. The current drawing unfortunately measures 11x9.5. We have already requested a change.

However, we are not yet completely satisfied with the floor plan for the upper floor:

- The bathroom is too large
- The upper left room is not optimally designed

By reducing the size of the house, we will certainly be able to shrink the bathroom a bit as well as the lower left room. However, it will then be difficult to enter the bathroom because the master bedroom cannot really be made smaller. The partition wall would then be at the height of the staircase. The staircase is indicated here as 4 meters long. Is there still potential for savings there with a normal ceiling height? Of course, the steps should comply with standards.

For your information: South is roughly behind the building. My girlfriend does not want the master bedroom and the children's room to be next to each other. Additionally, the bathroom cannot be in the upper left corner due to the design on the ground floor.

Do you have any ideas on what else can be changed/improved?

We like to help, but we would prefer to have all floors as JPGs with a north arrow and completed questionnaire from the pinned thread in this forum. :)

For everyone else, here is the first floor:

Have you ever tried a version where you extend the dressing room a bit and place the access to the bedroom above it? That way, regarding the bathroom door, you could at least gain a bit more space if you shift the wall to the bedroom slightly north. However, the bathroom would of course not become smaller because of that.

I think anyway that the dressing room is not really usable like this. How do you want to place a normal 3m wardrobe there? Just draw in the intended furnishing.

I also find the double bed as it is currently drawn very questionable. The wall at the head end is 3.27m? In the shell construction, and then a normal 2m bed with not even 60cm on each side afterwards is not really comfortable.

Please upload Jpgs... The ground floor is not visible to me, the upper floor only with ’s help.

You are forcing yourselves into a corset with the symmetry and the dormers/additional gables. Shortening the house by half a meter might make the bathroom a bit smaller (if you don’t change anything fundamental), but the other rooms will also be affected. Thus, the upper left room will not become larger, rather smaller...

That’s exactly right.

How high is the "normal" room height or story height? What angle does the roof slope have? What does the stairway entrance on the ground floor look like? Dimensions for that? What does the ground floor look like? Where is "behind the house"? And which one is exactly the "upper left room" now?

This is maddening.
