Hey guys,

in my new room I have a couch and a bed and thought it would be cool to be able to watch Netflix from both places with a swivel TV mount. To make this happen, I would have to attach the mount to the side of the Kallax shelf. I think with a wooden board inside the shelf, long screws, and possibly hollow wall anchors, the mount should safely hold the TV (total 10 kilos), right?

Or should I better leave it? Or do you have any tips?

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Greg

Hello, if you drill through and use the wooden board on the opposite side and use carriage bolts, I do think it will hold. It would probably be safer to use a wooden board on both sides that is wider than the hole spacing. In any case, I would only do it if the shelf is attached to the wall. Whether the honeycomb core will withstand the pressure in the long run you will see over time. Have you checked on Ikea hackers if someone has done something like this with KALLAX or EXPEDIT?
