I am planning the house.
The following is desired:
Sat reception, output on one TV and several mobile devices (iPad, notebook, etc.), output of different channels on TV and iPad/notebook, recordings on Synology NAS, streaming from NAS to various end devices, access to media libraries.
(Info: TV currently has no integrated receiver, but is to be switched to a TV with receiver and network access in the medium term).
Operation should be uncomplicated and few devices should be used.
I want a future-proof, cost-effective solution with few additional devices.
What do you think of the following proposal:
As long as there is no TV with Sat receiver and network access:
- Sat antenna
- existing Dreambox as Sat receiver for TV and as network access for NAS streaming and media libraries
- 2 Sat sockets in the living room (1x for Dreambox, 1x provisionally for later for NAS recordings directly on Synology NAS)
- 1 LAN connection per room
- WLAN throughout the house
- running TV program of the Dreambox can also be viewed on iPad/notebook (but only the same channel)
Afterwards:
- Sat antenna
- TV with integrated Sat receiver and network access for NAS streaming and media libraries
- 2 Sat sockets in the living room (1x for TV reception, 1x for NAS recordings with Video Station)
- 1 LAN connection per room
- WLAN throughout the house
I have the following questions:
Or would it be better to do without Sat sockets in the house from the start and convert Sat signal into IP signal?
How can I watch different Sat programs on iPad/notebook?
Are there TVs that receive programs from the network connection?
Can I record TV program on my NAS from the network connection (Video Station)?
Does anyone have experience with Sat-IP receivers?
Thank you
