Hello!

Our fitness TV makes pretty distorted sounds at high volume. I want to connect it to a speaker system somehow, but I lack the imagination for what to buy best.

There are soundbars, Bluetooth speakers, or complete sound systems with amplifiers. The latter is definitely over the top. Ideally, I want to get only one device and it should cost a maximum of 250 euros.

Now I only get audio out from the TV (Samsung BJ2014) via optical, right?

Best regards

250 is already really little. I would go for a Xiaomi soundbar, it has an optical input. Costs around 80 euros.

Soundbar, I think so too. Without a subwoofer, they always sound boxy, no sugarcoating that. They often have optical in, HDMI-ARC would be practical. Even more practical would be HDMI-CEC, then it turns on/off with the TV.

Would spend a bit more money, in the range of €350-€450 there are many 2.1 or 3.1 soundbars that already deliver really good sound.

Connection then e.g. via HDMI ARC

Used soundbar with sub. Then 250€ is enough.
