Hello everyone,

Climate change seems to have reached us for some years now. Right now we are experiencing tornadoes again in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. With fatalities and over 40 injured. When I look at the density of tornadoes in Germany over the past years, decades, and centuries on Wikipedia under , it can also give you a storm in your head. The increase in tornadoes can no longer be denied...

Something for the climate probably wouldn’t be entirely wrong! Houses and roofs built in the conventional way will probably soon no longer be sufficient!

Storm damage is covered by the residential building insurance.

What are you getting at?

Congratulations on this realization. That has been known for many years.

Correct. For example, no more new land sealing with single-family houses or even bungalows. Instead, use existing buildings with new living concepts (including less sqm per person) and renovate energetically so that they are at least partially energy-autonomous. But such things are unpopular, especially in a form of housebuilding ;)

And unfortunately a bit undercomplex and not purposeful. Land sealing has absolutely nothing to do with the formation of tornadoes. And "new living concepts" sounds great – just do it. The world will follow you. Just like in all those "New Human" systems.
Otherwise, the last 3 months have shown what probably remains of all these pipe dreams when prices continue to rise and the "We are all so rich, the state will support it" fails to materialize. And it would be new to me if old buildings were no longer being used. Only, strangely enough, they never really reach new-build levels and often aren’t even worth being brought close to that. But no one is stopping you from buying a 1970s pollutant bungalow and living there with two families on 80m².
