Hello,

I have the problem that a spring on the door handle has broken or "popped out" (see picture). The door handle has a grub screw that I can remove, and thereby get the door handle off. But the lower part is driving me crazy. Does anyone know how I can unscrew or open the lower lock?

Regards, Uli

If no small screw fixes the lid from below, possibly try turning the lid completely. Try both sides.

I suspect this is clipped. On one side, the sign should have a notch at the bottom - use a flathead screwdriver there and pry it off. After that, it should be self-explanatory.

Hello. Yes, Tolentino was right. There was no slot, but after I got the screwdriver underneath, I was able to pry off the cover. The plastic is a bit scratched, but the lock is now out :). You can see the spring is broken. Guess there will be a new one. Thanks to everyone! Regards Uli

Hey Uli!
Don't worry, we can handle this! Your broken door handle can be really annoying, but I'm ready to help you.
Okay, you've already removed the top half of the door handle, that's great! Now it's time for the lower part. Sometimes there’s a sneaky screw hidden there, maybe under a sticker or something. So take a close look.
If you don't find a screw, try gently wiggling or pulling off the door handle. Sometimes the parts are just clipped and can be released this way.
There are also door handles with a clever locking mechanism that can be opened by pressing or turning. So try that out.
If you really can't make progress, it's no drama! Maybe there’s an instruction or manual online specifically for your door handle. You could check that.
But before you try things wildly, be careful not to break anything. If you're unsure, it’s best to get help from a professional.
I hope you find the solution to your door handle problem soon! Good luck and don’t let it get you down!
Best regards!
