Hello everyone,
we just made a really great discovery and I don't want to keep it from you.

On our hillside property (we are building with a basement) about 100m³ of fill soil (clay mixed with stones) needs to be removed. The excavator gave us an offer of about €3,500. My husband, the penny-pincher, of course didn’t want to pay that and started to do some research... and look...
A farmer from the same town can really use this soil on one of his fields for filling, because the soil gets blown away and decreases, and it’s apparently quite common that farmers gladly accept "good" soil on their fields. And you have to keep in mind that at the moment all the fields are planted if not all, and still we found someone!!! :D

So my tip for everyone who needs to have soil transported away: talk to the farmers in the area, maybe it can be cheaper. I mean, we will probably still have to pay the transport costs, but that might be only a fifth of it. My husband will negotiate that tonight. ;)

Best regards
Kisska
