Hi everyone,

we want to have our house (single-family house, 1 1/2 stories) built using timber frame construction. So far so good...

However, we are not yet sure whether to use a DWDprotect 16mm board or a soft fiberboard of, for example, 22 or 34 mm as the outer panel on the exterior walls. We have several carpentry companies that have made offers, and some say never use DWD again, while others only use it.

The background is that there have supposedly been problems with mold on DWD boards in the past. I was able to see this myself on a renovation project in the neighboring town... So, naturally, we are now afraid if we build with DWD... On the other hand, the carpenter who is currently our favorite only works with it and has had no problems, while the company a few streets away no longer uses it at all...

Have you had similar discussions or experienced anything yourself?

Best regards
