Hello, we are in the final stages of our new build. The tiles are completely finished. Now we are considering whether to have the silicone joints (expansion joints, and the joints between the floor tiles and the baseboard) done immediately or wait until the house has settled. Actually, we would prefer to have everything finished right away. What experience do you have with this? Is the likelihood high that the silicone will crack if it is done immediately? Thanks in advance ; )

We had it done completely right away and after 2 years there is only one crack directly behind the heat pump, which is also standing on screed. So that doesn't surprise me.

In the rest of the entire house toi toi toi. No cracks at all.

At 1.70 euros/meter there was nothing to think about.

We also had it done immediately and almost everywhere there are cracks after 3 years :(

Best regards in brief

We will have that done right away. If they then tear, and they will, so what. I will reattach. It's not difficult. Karsten

We also had it done immediately and after three and a half years had two cracks which were repaired directly today.
