Hello forum!

This time I have a question about window frames. A supplier recommended that I do not choose the window frames in the normal thickness of 70mm, but rather 88mm (in both cases the windows are triple-glazed).

Do thicker window frames really provide me an advantage?
Are there any disadvantages (apart from the slightly higher price)?

Thank you very much for your help!

Regards

Hi!

The advantages are not directly in the thickness.......
But with a wider frame
- a higher insulation value can be achieved
- more stability can be attained
- conversion to soundproofing is possible.

Actually, I would have thought that 70 mm would no longer be offered with triple glazing.

When comparing Uw, Ug, Uf, and G values, don't forget aesthetics and safety :).

Best regards,
TomTom.
