Hello everyone, the network installation I commissioned provides for a double socket in every room. These converge in the utility room on a patch panel. How can I most easily (i.e., with the least financial and time effort) check the sockets and cables for functionality and correct data rate? Best regards

Google for "pockethernet"!!! Brand new and I received it last week. Very fine device and at a bargain price!

Currently unfortunately sold out again.. can't keep up with demand.

Currently wiring the network cabling as well. I bought a set with LSA tool and measuring device for that. I think it was 20 euros on Amazon. You connect a device on both sides and it measures all 8 wires.

The things from the LSA sets for 20€ only test for continuity. Nothing more. Whether a gigabit connection can be established cannot be determined with them. A proper measuring device costs several hundred euros.

If you have commissioned this, request a measurement protocol from them.

Otherwise, connect two computers and test the throughput with the program “iperf“.

Network cabling is commissioned with a measurement protocol. Own measuring equipment is completely unnecessary.

Thank you, that makes a good impression. However: What is to be made of the <200€-things?
