I installed two wooden supports under the basement ceiling in my house, completed in 2004/5, on a 1.00 m high, approximately 2.00 m long, and 12.5 cm thick Poroton brick wall. The supports measure 9 cm x 9 cm and are 154 cm high. They are intended to provide additional relief for the approximately 28 sqm and 18 cm thick B 25 concrete ceiling under the living room. The exact load is not known after setting up an additional piece of furniture, an electric organ weighing 250 kg—estimated at 3.6 tons. The unknown factor is the weight of the tiled stove (1.4 tons included in the 3.6 tons, the stove builder does not commit to a precise figure). However, in 2004 the architect planned a reinforcement of the ceiling in the area of the stove; since he is retired, no detailed inquiry is possible anymore. So far, there are no cracks or deformations in the wall, supports, or ceiling.
