Hello, my first post here.

As a complete beginner in construction, etc., I wanted to get some advice here.

It is about a column that is quite annoying and has a relatively large diameter (80x80). Now we wondered if it might be possible to make the column narrower, well, got a structural engineer and he said that due to the lack of construction documents, he cannot give me a precise assurance, but he was quite sure that I can tear it down up to the steel beam.

The downside is that instead of steel, wood and bricks came next, see picture.
I strongly assume that this is also load-bearing.
Can you tell me something about it? If there is possibly a chance to tear some of it down?

Yes: Ask your structural engineer. Sorry, but no one here in the forum can seriously tell you anything else.
