Hello dear forum,
for our new penthouse apartment, a decision has to be made regarding the installation of a sunshade.
1. Roller shutters /Advantage: additional heat protection, completely opaque, very wind-resistant /Disadvantage: light cannot be controlled, looks like a garage door from the inside
2. Venetian blinds /Advantage: good light control, completely opaque, looks chic /Disadvantage: difficult to clean, no heat protection, may rattle, wind and sun sensor required
3. Textile screen /Advantage: does not rattle, looks very modern, easy to clean / Disadvantages: light cannot be controlled, permeability at 25%, wind and sun sensor required, possibly not opaque???
We actually favored Venetian blinds with Z-slats and rail system, but due to the too narrow top frame width, the raised package would protrude about 5 cm into the glass pane.
With the textile screen, this would not be the case, they would disappear well in the boxes, and this not so nice-looking mounted rail system (like Venetian blinds) would also be avoided.
But now the most important question here: is the textile screen suitable as a privacy screen from the outside, or should it only be considered as shading? How is the durability compared to Venetian blinds or roller shutters? Replacing the fabric at some point will not be cheap either?
I would appreciate some advice.
Best regards, Frank
