I love shutters!! However, we had dismissed them because of the space constraints. Only folding shutters were possible, and these are particularly expensive.

Exterior blinds would also be possible, but these must be controlled depending on the sun and require power at every window. Otherwise, there are also awnings, shutters. Natural shading by trees would be best but... yes, it takes time.

Unfortunately, trees are also ruled out. On the east side we have the courtyard, then the garage and then a huge thuja from the neighbors, which unfortunately does not cast any shade because it is set back a bit to the north. Awnings have the problem of operation. I almost think we won't get around an electric solution. At least for the windows on the ground floor, we haven't renewed the plaster yet. Maybe it could be done there.

A simple interior blind on the window already helps a lot. That is what I would try first. If that doesn’t help, one can still think in other dimensions. It is completely sufficient for us.

We don't need anything with automation or the like. That is not a criterion for us. In the end, it has to achieve the goal, namely heat protection. Simple exterior roller blinds would be enough for me, but that is hard to combine with [Unterlicht]. Visually, shutters would fit the house best. However, I don't find sliding shutters visually appealing because of the rails. It might be good to get an offer here. It should also be eligible for funding. But I think we still have to save for a while and actually want a solution still for this summer.
