Hello,
I have an end-terrace house and want to remove the old insulation in the attic and completely re-insulate it.
The attic is normally accessible via a permanently installed staircase.
The attic was insulated many years ago (not by me) with insulation that has an aluminum foil coating on one side; that should be removed. I believe there is no vapor barrier installed.
The attic is lined with wood and all of that should be removed; a new roof window + an access hatch for the chimney sweep should be installed.
The wooden floor is covered with tongue-and-groove boards.
The two rooms below are newly insulated.
I wanted to know how to proceed with the attic above,
since I won’t be able to connect to the vapor barrier below.
The wooden ceiling is insulated from below as well?
