Storage space in a staggered shed roof?

Hello,

who has experience with a staggered shed roof?
We are now considering that it would create nice variations in ceiling heights.

At the very top, you could also set up a sort of attic for storage, right!?
Or would that be rather counterproductive, since you would then give up the attractive height in the upper floor?

What do you think?

We have a normal shed roof with a 6-degree pitch. At the highest point inside it is about 1m. Between the rafters, of course, somewhat higher. We use the area as a storage space for rarely needed items (spare tiles, suitcases, etc.).

Hello Jochen, do I understand you correctly that up there there would be significantly less space than in the attic of a gable or pyramid roof house? I had thought that this part could be pulled up so far that there would be a proper area again. The development plan stipulates one-and-a-half stories.

Hello Julia, it depends on your individual planning. With us, there are 2 full floors and on top of that sits the normal shed roof with a relatively low pitch.

The photo shows a two-story building, if you disregard the barely visible extension. Storage space at the offset lean-to roof is no different from the gable roof – it depends on the knee wall height and roof pitch.
