Hello everyone,
In our basement, one room and the hallway have underfloor heating. The other three rooms do not have underfloor heating. The floor structure is therefore 14.5 cm in the rooms with underfloor heating and 8 cm in the rooms without underfloor heating.
Now there is the possibility to lay insulation under the screed so that the rooms are at the same height. For the storage room (water crates, food supplies, etc.), we consider it sensible to do this so that there is no step. For the laundry room and the utility room, we are not sure if it makes sense, as in case of water damage, it could even be advantageous if the water does not initially flow into the other rooms. What do you think, or how have you possibly done it in your place?
Best regards
Oliver
