Good morning everyone,

my husband and I do not agree on what kind of staircase we want in our new building. He would like steel, I prefer wood...

Are there any advantages or disadvantages? What do you like more? I am afraid a steel staircase will look too much like a doctor's office, he is afraid a wooden staircase will look too much like a country house. Really difficult...

What are your opinions?
Best regards!

Good morning,
the picture is unfortunately not so good, but in my opinion it has nothing to do with a medical practice:

We are satisfied with the combination of steel and wood.

Yes, I also like something like that very much... I even find the steel beams beautiful... But we have a quarter-turn staircase... It runs straight at the bottom and turns 90 degrees to the right at the top. I just can't really imagine it that well....

If you enter "stahltreppe 1/4 gewendelt" in Google image search, you will get lots of image examples of all kinds of quarter-turn stairs with steel stringers and wooden steps. Steel can also be treated with color, e.g., by powder coating.

that can be combined in any way, also in the design of the handrail, etc. Then it doesn't look like a country house or a doctor's office. The best thing is to see something like this in person at a stair builder. I also initially wanted a completely wooden staircase, now the railing is made of steel.
