Hello everyone,

I am looking for expertise regarding exterior walls/insulation.

My problem is that every architect, contractor, or developer suggests a different technique for the exterior walls and insulation.

Are there magazines, homepages, etc., that report neutrally about various (state of the art) possibilities on how to build a single-family house (double shell with insulation in between; single shell with thick external insulation, external insulation plastered and painted or clad with wood; wooden house made of logs, timber frame construction with various internal insulations; prefabricated walls made of brick or concrete; what are the differences between the individual brick types, etc.)

Have I made myself clear? I just want to get an idea of what possibilities exist, what is state of the art, and what the advantages and disadvantages are.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards, Jörg
