Hello professionals,
We plan to install a staircase parallel to a wall. The resulting hole in the floor would almost certainly damage the underfloor heating. Does it have to be replaced over the entire area, or can the damaged parts be repaired? I know that underfloor heating runs in serpentine patterns, but you can't say exactly where it goes. If anyone has experience with this and also knows the approximate costs, I would be very grateful for a tip.

reorganize underfloor heating

well, the underfloor heating runs in meandering lines. that is true. now it is simply the case that these meandering lines are supplied with water at one point and the water runs all the way to the end. so it depends on ensuring the flow. for this, it needs to be determined exactly how these meandering lines run and where you plan the breakthrough.

i would contact a heating company that possibly has a so-called cm monitor. this is a mat that reacts to heat and thus shows exactly where the underfloor heating coils run. (of course, briefly turn on the heating for this - even in summer ;) )

this should make it possible to identify a potential bypass of the heating coils.

good luck
