Hello everyone,
I am new here and hope that someone has a few insightful tips on my topic. We want to connect 2 floors by installing a staircase. The resulting hole would be along an interior wall and would probably measure 1x2m. The underfloor heating was probably damaged.

Who can tell me how the structural stability behaves with these dimensions or how extensive the "repair" of the underfloor heating is. Does the whole room need to be redone or just the affected area. If someone has already done this and knows the approximate costs, I would of course be grateful.

Thanks for your help

this seems to me a bigger undertaking. whether it is possible from a structural standpoint is hard to say, but I could imagine it. however, you will not be able to avoid consulting a structural engineer.
I believe the underfloor heating could be expensive, though. it runs in parallel serpentine lines. how to bridge the interruptions there is a mystery to me. if there is no solution to this, it would mean having to renew the entire underfloor heating.
regards and have a nice weekend!
