Splendoor front door - from the hardware store or rather from the carpenter?

Hello,

I am currently planning the renovation of my future house and the first thing I would like to do is replace the front door.

I am quite clueless when it comes to windows/doors and what is "good," so I would need a tip from you.

The local carpenter offers a plastic door with RC2 security, including installation, for just under €3,000.

Today, when I quickly went to OBI to get something, I saw that they have visually nice front doors, but are they any good?

Specifically, it’s about a front door from the company Fa. Splendoor, model Berlin, with RC2, material aluminum. This is also offered with installation by a cooperating company. The price is about half of what the carpenter charges.

I don’t think I am allowed to insert a link.

Has anyone installed something like this or can give me a recommendation?

Thank you very much!

Best regards

I have just obtained a new RC3/WK3 multi-purpose door for which I would still need to significantly adjust the door opening in order to install it. In addition, I have already found something else that fits - almost plug and play - into my wall opening.

This is a Teckentrup - generally good quality - with a metal frame and all-round locking, door viewer with cover, fittings, and small parts. A very sturdy piece!

You can install it yourself; instructions are included.
The original price was approximately €940.
