Hello,
when we agreed on our financing with the bank, we did not think that we could make any extraordinary payments. But now we have inherited something and want to make a special repayment. Is it that simple or do you have to arrange it in advance?

If a fixed interest rate period is in place, a special repayment is usually not possible. With a regular annuity loan, a special repayment is usually possible without costs after consultation with the bank. I just discussed this with my bank advisor today. My loan still runs for 3 years, then it is paid off. Now I have been considering whether I should make a special repayment and have found that with a loan interest rate of 5.1% and a daily allowance account of 3%, it would be pointless to repay.
