Hello,
we are building a bungalow with a nationwide home construction company. The electrical rough-in and interior plaster are finished, and the heating installer will come in the next few days. The house and interior walls are built with perforated bricks and are 24 cm thick. The ceiling consists of the bottom chords of the studio trusses, on which the vapor barrier has been attached underneath. Between the bottom chords, above the vapor barrier, mineral wool insulation has been installed. Below the vapor barrier, aluminum profiles are attached, on which gypsum plasterboards will be installed later. The gypsum plasterboards will be elastically bonded to the interior plaster on the walls. However, the vapor barrier runs through some rooms, so that there is a few centimeters of air above the interior walls between the ring beam and the vapor barrier. I wonder if this might cause problems with sound insulation later on. Therefore, I have considered insulating these intermediate spaces with mineral wool before installing the gypsum plasterboards. Is that advisable? What should be considered? I could either do it myself or ask the drywall installer if he will do it.
