Hello everyone,
a quick and concise question about soundproofing in our attic conversion. The attic is constructed with a wooden truss. Since the attic is to be divided by a partition wall for an apartment, it is unavoidable that a beam (about 10 cm in diameter) runs upward through the soundproof wall. We have planned the wall structure as follows:
Diamantplatte Knauf, double layered
Profile rail 75mm
Foam rubber strip
Profile rail 75mm
Diamantplatte Knauf, double layered
Currently, the attic ceiling consists only of floorboards, which will be retained and onto which a floating screed will be applied. (Statically no problem for the wooden beam ceiling) The partition wall runs up to the underside of these floorboards and the ceiling will be classically suspended from below and filled with insulating wool.
Please a brief info whether this construction is even sound-technically sensible. Whether we can improve anything or if it would more or less work like this. Thank you very much
