Hello, I would like to install soundproofing on the ceiling in a granny flat in our house. 1. So that you don't hear as much from below. 2. So that the people downstairs don't notice the stomping from my kids as much. I was thinking of attaching battens to the ceiling and then filling the spaces with Styrofoam (3-4 cm thick). Do you think this would help, does anyone have experience with insulating a ceiling from below afterward? It is a concrete ceiling with a 15 cm construction (screed). It should help, right, or is the work pointless? I would be grateful for any tips :)
