Hello,

Soon my wife and I will be purchasing a home in Hamburg and are currently planning the extensive renovation work. We are currently still stuck on the question of parquet and flooring. We want to treat ourselves to something really high quality here.

Now to my questions:

On the ground floor, we want to install a large-format oiled oak parquet plank (> 3m). It was supposed to be a solid plank. However, the installation company urgently recommended a multi-layer plank, especially because of the underfloor heating. The arguments also sounded very plausible. What do you think about that?

On the upper floor, we want to have a cozy carpet floor permanently installed in the sleeping area. The hallway, children's rooms, and study will get a design flooring in wood look made of PVC, because that is simply the most practical (wiping clean) and still looks good. We will also lay some fitted rugs, especially in the children's rooms. We are not fans of ceramic tiles at all and are therefore currently considering using the design flooring also in the two upper bathrooms and the guest WC downstairs. Is that advisable?
