Hello,

we need a new corner sofa and went to a few furniture stores last weekend, but without any consultation, just to have a look. Nothing really caught our eye, or when sitting on some sofas I could already feel the inner construction. Did you get any sofa or can you recommend a manufacturer, or have you had any bad experiences?

Best regards
Sabine

Can recommend Ewald Schillig to you. Great couches, high-quality workmanship, various firmness levels available, and really durable. I am now on my third set, while the first one is still in use (large L + ottoman used, sold again after almost 10 years for nearly €600).

We also have Schillig, but which brother, I do not know at the moment.
But it is actually a matter of style. What do you have in mind?
Filter yourself here ;)
Where should it fit, what is your style?

There is W. Schillig and E. Schillig. I found W. Schillig to be clearly better in quality and probably therefore also more expensive.

The leather of W. Schillig is very high quality and easy to care for. On top of that, the whole thing is very comfortable. Better to buy a good couch once than to buy the wrong couch for 5 years.

I found the corner solutions from Freistil (Rolf Benz) very appealing three years ago. However, we then decided on two 2.5-seaters because that somehow looks more elegant and ultimately offers more seating space. So far, we are very satisfied with the quality.

I find it difficult to pick a manufacturer. For leather, I would pay attention to the thickness and quality. You can often see clear differences already in the color samples. It is important that it is dyed through and as thick as possible. Otherwise, there are quite a few Bockspring substructures nowadays, but there are good and bad ones there as well. Test rides help, of course, and if you can already feel the interior, you should definitely keep your distance. Otherwise, look for a trustworthy dealer and check out several dealers. Sometimes you then notice which statements you can trust and which you cannot.
