Dear forum. In one spot on the parquet (American cherry) we have the following damages (pictures attached) – several very small holes. Could this have been caused by a pest? Thanks for your help.

Has this damage just occurred now or have you only just noticed it? Basically, feeding traces, i.e., wood shavings, should be visible if it is a current infestation. That is pretty much the surest sign. It looks more like damage that already existed before processing. But of course, it is impossible to assess remotely.

We did not see any wood dust, nor any beetles or other little animals. The damage was only noticed now, we have already been living here for 1.5 years. Can the holes now simply be filled with repair wax, or is it better to wait a bit longer?

As mentioned, the damage in the wood gives the impression that it is older. At least the pictures look as if the holes are beneath the paint, so they must have already been there during production. Maybe still observe for a few more days to see if it enlarges or if there are signs of active infestation.
