Hello everyone,

Last year in August, we had our house (new build) tiled. The silicone joints were also done by the tiler.

We had agreed with him that he would use our material (he specified the chemicals and we bought them). Now we are noticing that there are already many places where the silicone joint has torn off. Is this a reason for a complaint, or are we just unlucky because he used our material? It seems to be due to the settling of the screed.

Thanks for the tips

Well, what can the tiler do about the setting of the house/the screed? That is exactly why silicone joints are made, so that large damages do not occur immediately. These are, so to speak, predetermined breaking points.

Yep - that's normal. The company comes to us for 5 years and repeatedly repairs all the silicone joints.
