Hello everyone,

I would like to renew the silicone joint of our shower tray. The tray is made of mineral casting. Now I am considering which agent I can best use to remove the silicone residues that probably remain after cutting out the joint. The common agents are probably all acidic and therefore not suitable for mineral casting. Some websites recommend acetone, while others advise against it.

Does anyone have experience?

Regards
Simon

There are special silicone removers from various manufacturers – from the hardware store or specialty shops. Apply, let it work, and scrape off.

Yes exactly, but they are all (at least all that I have seen so far) acidic and therefore actually not suitable for mineral casting.
