Hello,

a ceiling boxing of about 2.2 m² (1.6m x 1.6m) was planned in our hallway, which has now been significantly reduced by the contractor to a small piece of 60cm x 10cm.

I am actually okay with this, but I would like to get some compensation for the reduced effort the contractor has as a result.

What do you think I can get reimbursed for, so that it is also attractive for the developer not to carry out the boxing in the planned size? (I would then write: Please reimburse X euros or carry out as planned)

Thanks!

So I would estimate the possible amount to be quite low, because the effort does not differ significantly and the material value is not particularly high either. The question is whether it really makes sense to request a reimbursement. Of course, he needs fewer profiles and fewer plasterboard sheets, but that is probably negligible in terms of cost. The effort? I think a professional can build something like that for you in an hour, but the fact that the box is now smaller does not necessarily result in a big time savings. So I wouldn’t expect much from it!

The box is already made in small size, which means they would have to come back and build the whole thing larger according to the plan. We were only asked if we want to keep it as he made it (including photo) or as in the plan.

Ok! Then the question of course is what appeals to you more visually now? But I assume that the refund wouldn't be very much, so either you like it that way or you have it executed according to the plan. I think it probably wouldn't be more than €50, if at all. It may possibly depend again on the exact situation.

You’re glad it’s getting smaller, aren’t you?
Do you want to risk having the bigger rip-off again just because of 20 euros?
