Hello dear people,
we have bought an old mid-terrace house and I am now in the process of renovating the upstairs bathroom (about 2m x 2m). My motto so far has been: take the chisel hammer and remove everything possible.
Wall tiles and part of the floor tiles are now removed and I am facing 2 challenges. I have to say, I have very little knowledge about this kind of thing.
1. There used to be a shower in the small bathroom. Accordingly, there is still a faucet there, see picture 1. How do I remove this now? Turning off the water is clear. Then there seem to be two "rings" at the back of the faucet, which might have internal threads. So the piece of pipe coming out of the wall probably has external threads and I would need some kind of "closed nut" to permanently seal it? Please forgive my ignorance.
2. The floor will be newly tiled after removing the old tiles, I will try to do that myself. Now please look at the picture. The orange arrows, that will be the old tile adhesive and needs to be removed. Now, what the light blue arrow points to, is that already the screed?? And does the green arrow indicate a hole in the screed? Or could that be an intermediate layer and the screed is still underneath?
I know, absolute beginner questions, I would still be very grateful for suggestions!
