Hello,

we found the following situation in our bathroom (see pictures in the attachment), which the previous owners left us like this...
The hose is a standard shower hose and the shower head is also a standard model from Hans Grohe... but it does not fit into the intended holder in the shower...

The previous owners can no longer be contacted. How can this be the case with standardized fittings?

I’m not exactly sure about standards there; as far as I know, the screwed parts are standardized, but I wouldn’t be so sure about the actual bracket itself. In our rental apartment, the brackets were just replaced (because they were broken), and there was always a showerhead included (but we still use the old one, which also fits, albeit tightly).

I would assume that at some point only one of the two was replaced, and that’s why it doesn’t quite fit...

The brackets are not standardized. You will have to spend money on that again...

Try rotating the bracket by 180°. It might be tapered.

Just checked: the bracket probably isn't conical if the twist lock/bracket of the showerhead already is. I guess it's a matter of decades changing. Measure and buy a new head. There are some very nice models… with lights and all
