Hello,

we still need a shower enclosure for the granny flat.
The shower is flush with the floor/ tiled and 90cm wide (towards the toilet) and 100cm long (towards the window).
We actually thought of two folding doors. It would have been nice if they could be folded together against the walls when not in use, so the small bathroom wouldn't feel so cramped. Now, with the amateurs, we have realized that this won't work because the amateurs are on the head side... also the toilet would be annoying, one door would always hit it. Many folding doors also seem to open inward only.

Now the consideration is a fixed 100cm part and a 90cm door.
What I find unfortunate about this is that the shower is for my mother, and if I ever have to help her with showering, I would have a hard time getting in...

Can anyone here give tips on what the better solution would be?

Thanks and stay healthy!

By "double folding" there would be space for the fittings if they are placed not exactly in the middle but rather towards the corner.
Google: Folding doors as corner entry.

We had a similar problem at my mother's place.
Walk-in shower, size 85x110cm.
Here, the sink on the long side was in the way.
The passage with a walker was too narrow.
Solution: Instead of the planned fixed glazing, "only" a shower curtain.
When not in use, the curtain is open and the small bathroom does not feel cramped. However, the floor of the walk-in shower should have the necessary slope so that the water does not flow in the wrong direction.

Basically, that is exactly the solution to the problem. I don’t know the domestic situation. If you consider care from a forward-looking perspective, you will have to maneuver, plus possibly a shower stool and so on.. These considerations then make the shower curtain charming again.

In the motorhome, this is often solved with sliding doors with vertical sectional elements (I can't recall the technical term right now). These run in tracks at the top and bottom.

With a width of 90 cm, you have to place the faucet very far towards the corner so that the double folding door really folds back completely to the wall. For us, the space advantage prevailed (with 90x90 tile size). We took the double folding doors from Schulte and are satisfied so far. You always have to be careful with those things anyway, as you can also fold a door in front of the faucet...
