We are interested in a house built in 2006, constructed by local craftsmen who still exist today. The house has a square floor plan, and the roof is a hipped roof. During an inspection of the attic, I made the following discovery: The two main posts are mounted on a piece of wood? Why? Does anyone have a theory about this? I did not want to ask the owner any "unpleasant questions" because there are many interested buyers. The house apparently has no defects and is overall in top condition.
