Hello

Is it mandatory to make a separating cut during a partial demolition of a house?

Best regards

What exactly do you want to cut through with a flex tool, or how is the question meant?

A partial demolition of a building requires measures to ensure that the part not planned to be demolished remains stable. More or less, the part to be demolished must be an extension (or a roof structure), as otherwise, there will practically be a lack of load-bearing and future exterior boundary walls. It’s best if you tell me more, as it’s hard to give a targeted suggestion this way.

I strongly recommend involving a structural engineer for something like this. They will write a report from which you can precisely determine how the demolition must be carried out to ensure the stability of the remaining building.

If it is not an extension that is being demolished, I would let professionals handle it The know what to do to secure the structure With stone, concrete and the like, you won't be able to avoid a separating cut Although I am of the opinion that they cut ours piece by piece

The question was more whether one absolutely has to make a separating cut (very expensive), or if one can do it oneself with a demolition hammer?

It comes out the same, only that you don't have a clean cut but rather chipped away material.
