Hello everyone,

I am currently ordering a sectional door. The dimensions are 4m wide and 2.125m high. Am I correct if I order exactly these dimensions?
The door is not to be installed in the reveal, but rather mounted from the inside on the front wall, but wouldn’t the door then be much too small? Do I need to choose one size bigger? I have 50cm on each side of the door opening, so that fits.
And because my lintel above the door is only 24cm and the ceiling slopes slightly backwards, I would choose the L bracket.

Do you think everything fits or am I making a mistake somewhere? I don’t want the door to be too small later with slots or gaps or something.

It's probably not a big deal, but I'm just acting stupid again right now :)

Mounting behind the reveal is even more common. The idea of simply choosing one grid step too high and too wide - following the motto: the wall or the lintel will cover it anyway, so at least you won’t have a gap - is however wrong. That is not the purpose of dimensions ;-)

Stock or standard sizes are based on construction reference dimensions and take tolerances into account. Reputable manufacturers typically provide illustrated guidance on their websites about the correct determination of order dimensions (and about the associated tolerances, so that you don’t think you have to order a special size due to a 1 cm deviation).

A gate for an opening with a rough construction reference dimension of 400 x 212.5 will not be different in size whether it is mounted in or behind the reveal. But it will then have a different frame variant. Possibly these are just two letters behind the size designation, e.g. "HL" (hinter Laibung) or "MA" (mit Anschlag).

Even more reputable providers have competently staffed 0800 hotlines, where you will be helped ;-)

I have had very good experiences with KLS-Torsysteme. I ordered my approximately 5m wide and approximately 2.4m high sectional door with a wicket door from the brand Novoferm there. For the measurement, I sent a picture from inside and outside with the exact dimensions drawn in. That was not a problem at all. During installation, a few small questions came up, which I was able to easily clarify with the competent employees. So I can definitely recommend them 100 percent. It was also the cheapest provider. Only downside --> prepayment.
