Hello,
we are in the planning phase and are exploring different possibilities for our single-family house.
We have the option to build a garage next to our house. If we integrate the second garage into the house, we would get a double garage on the ground floor, which was a big wish.
We have received some ideas where the garage is slightly forward (compared to the house). The protruding double garage is connected to the front door by a canopy.

However, we would also like to look at another variant, namely that the garage (and the front door) is set back, so that the other part of the house would stand forward.
Garage and front door would then practically be covered by the first floor.

This would result in a different layout of the ground floor.
What we are missing is a photo to visualize this, we have driven around a lot but have never seen something like this live (or in a picture).
Maybe someone just happens to have a photo/link available.
Thanks in advance

We had the same wish. Double garage inside the house. But since we ultimately gave up the basement, a "garage" was replaced by the utility/technical room :)

My profile picture shows the result.

At one point, the garage was pushed further forward, just as the extension on the house currently is. But then the second car would have been parked in front of the garage with its rear end* on the sidewalk, so it has now been set back.

There used to be a kind of canopy. But if you imagine the garage door at the front, it fits. The structure between the garage and the entrance is the mentioned technical room with the origin of having wanted to become a garage ;)

Thank you Emer, the second photo is closer, I can't exactly tell whether the front door and garage in the second picture are aligned and set back a bit more than the first floor or if the color was played with here. In our case, there should be no protruding block between the garage and front entrance, but the whole area should be set back a bit compared to the other part of the house. Maybe someone else has seen something like this before.

Yes, you can slide the components however you want. In the 2nd picture, everything is pulled forward, a little over a meter. The color makes it look bigger. You could also push the entire dark body backward. The floor plan would allow that. Then the OG would protrude there. But we didn't want that :)

That’s exactly what I want to see in a photo once to check if it’s good or not. ;-)
