Hello, In the bathroom in the area of the bathtub, the entire wall was skim-coated with knauf kalk zementspachtel. The original tiles are still underneath. Since someone occasionally showers there, we wanted to seal the plaster in the bathtub area in case the wall gets wet while showering. Which product can be used for that? I can't really find anything on the topic of seamless bathrooms except 2k sealant. Can someone help us on how to properly seal a plastered wall in the bathtub and shower area so that everything is fine. Best regards

1. You don't need to do anything, as a bit of water splashing is normal and does not harm the plaster 2. You have already mentioned the option with 2K sealants 3. Wax soap 4. Beton Ciré from various providers 5. Tadelakt (actually for pure lime plaster) 6. Potassium water glass could also be sufficient for your purpose - but it doesn't seal Overall, you do need a plan for the entire bathroom, because you will noticeably change the appearance. Personally, I don't see why I should seal. I don't see any added value in it, especially if you apply it afterwards.

2K polyurethane hardener in glossy and matte

Is it going in that direction? The plaster is already wet. It absorbs the water, doesn’t it?

I just have my doubts in case children ever bathe someday. And I know it can get wilder there and splash up to the wall.

No idea whether the [Mittel] on the plaster is the right choice. I have no experience with that.

And once again: The plaster is not harmed by water splashes!!! That’s exactly what [Kalkzement] is for. It dries again - unless you deliberately spray a few buckets on the walls several times a day.

Let's assume the wall gets wet daily from showering. Would the plaster and paint then not care? Provided it is always ventilated.
