Hello everyone,

We bought a house in November last year. It has an underground garage. However, due to the slope, it cannot be used as such. According to the previous owner, there was never a car parked there. (Planning error)

I have already asked the building authority. I do not need a permit for it.

I will have the masonry work done by a professional.

Can you still tell me in advance how this can be done? So, which stones? Does it need to be anchored to the existing masonry? (Because of stability)

Later, the wall is supposed to get a black paint coating and be filled in. Maybe a car should be able to stand on it then.

Thank you very much in advance

Hi,

why do you want to do that? Can't you use the room for something else? As a storage room or something?

I wouldn't brick up the garage. Is the area really sealed? You will never get to it again........ at least not without great effort

oh oh,
I saw the picture too late and was a bit too hasty

You probably have access from the house. Then you can of course continue to use the room......

You should use the stones that were also used in the rest of the masonry. Best to adjust the wall construction.

But beware! The wall must be strong enough to withstand the earth pressure.

You obviously have to create a "toothing" to the old masonry, otherwise the wall will topple over. Best with a wall connection rail or whatever

Regards
